Pyramid

Small signs throughout the ITC grounds and Besant Hall provide brief descriptions of notable places and objects. Further information is available here.

The ancient pyramids are discovered not only in Egypt, but also across the Americas and Asia. It is believed that one of their functions was to serve as sites for various initiation ceremonies.

A classical Egyptian style pyramid consists of four triangles on a square with four equilateral triangles as a side surface. The square, the triangle, the tetractys (a triangular figure consisting of 10 points arranged in 4 rows: 1, 2, 3, and 4 points in each row) and the pyramid are all symbols as old as the world.

In a pyramid, it is said that ‘cosmic energy is concentrated’ at one-third of the height. This point is called the king’s chamber. If you are seated in our small-scale pyramid, this ‘king’s chamber’ will be at the same height as your chi center or hara point. Many people attribute mystical powers to the pyramid and claim to experience heightened awareness and increased vitality after meditating in a pyramid-shaped structure.

You are welcome to find out for yourself if this works for you in the small pyramid built for this purpose, and to study the occult and esoteric aspects of the pyramid.

In theosophy we encourage research of the unknown, stating that there is no religion higher than truth.
